About Gregory DeVoire, MS, NCC, LPC
I am a licensed psychotherapist dedicated to helping adults and seniors navigate depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, and long-standing patterns that no longer serve them well.
My approach is practical and straightforward. I focus on giving clients clear tools and strategies they can actually use in daily life so they feel more in control and make meaningful progress. My style is direct, respectful, and collaborative.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent decades in high-responsibility leadership roles. That experience gives me a grounded understanding of major life transitions, career stress, decision-making, and building resilience — especially in later life.
I offer in-person therapy in a private, comfortable setting and keep my caseload intentionally small so I can provide focused, high-quality care. I am in-network with most major insurance plans and Medicare.
If you’re looking for a straightforward, experienced therapist who is genuinely invested in your progress, I invite you to reach out.
What to Expect in Your First Session
Many people feel a bit nervous before their first therapy session. That’s completely normal.
In our first meeting, we’ll take time to get to know each other. I’ll ask about what’s been going on in your life, how long you’ve been struggling, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. You’re also welcome to ask me any questions you have.
My goal is for you to leave the first session with a clearer sense of what’s happening and at least one small, practical step you can take during the week. We’ll move at a pace that feels manageable for you. Most people find that simply having a clear picture of what’s going on — and knowing there’s a plan — brings a real sense of relief.
Feeling Understood in Therapy
Many of the people I work with have felt misunderstood for a long time. They’ve tried to explain how they feel, only to be told to “just think positive,” “get over it,” or “try harder.” Over time, this can leave people feeling ashamed, isolated, or like something must be deeply wrong with them.
In our work together, I take time to truly understand your experience — not just the symptoms, but the story behind them. I won’t rush to give advice or try to fix you. Instead, we’ll work together to make sense of what’s been happening and find practical ways forward that actually fit your life.
You don’t have to have everything figured out before you come in. You just have to be willing to show up and be honest about where you are.
